Large capacity wine coolers are one of the most popular kind of wine coolers on the market due to their bottle capacities. Our large wine fridges come in various styles, some are designed to be built into cabinetry (ideal for kitchens) others are for freestanding use (perfect for a utility room). Large wine cabinets let you use the full height of a room to maximise storage space - they're a great alternative to wine cellars.

About Large Wine Fridges & Coolers

Large wine coolers or wine cabinets offer large capacities of from 100 bottle to over 200 bottles (with some models at 300 bottles capacity) providing ample space for large or extra large wine collections, catering for all your serving or ageing requirements. Perfect for use as commercial wine coolers, every high capacity wine fridge is fitted with sliding rails so shelves pull out effortlessly, in addition, these tall wine cabinets are also available with single, dual or multizone temperature options.

Useful Features of Large Wine Fridges

The large wine coolers we have on offer at Expert Wine Storage come fitted with all the important features you need in a wine fridge, along with elements that make your life easier such as sliding shelves. Read on below to find out more about what our big models have to offer:

    Display Shelves

The majority of our larger units are fitted with at least a couple of display shelves ideal for displaying your finest wines for all to see and enjoy the label view. Check the individual product description to see what type of shelves are included with the product.

    Beautiful Lighting Modes

Most large built in wine fridges are installed with varying illumination modes so your wines are presented in their best light. The majority of big models have at least normal white light LEDs, with the premium models including up to 3 modes of light, normal white, orange white and blue.

    Glass Doors

Although we stock units with solid doors, you'll find a wide range of models with beautiful UV protected glass doors fitted so your wines are protected from harmful UV but you can still enjoy looking at them all year round.

    Secure Locks

Many of our large wine fridges have a lock fitted as standard so you can ensure your collection is safely secured from unwanted attention. Most brands will provide 2 keys and spares are available if any keys need to be replaced.

    Precise Temperature Control

You'll find that all of our large capacity models are fitted with sleek and smart digital display panels which allow you to set your desired temperature with ease. You'll also be clearly shown the temperature inside the product by the clear LED displays.

Installation of a Large Built In Wine Fridge

Once the large wine fridge is delivered it's recommended to follow the manufacturers instructions for installation. The majority of extra large wine fridges can be used as built in wine fridges or freestanding units and are fitted with grills at the bottom / front to allow air to ventilate the wine fridges system. The front ventilation means that a built in wine cooler can be built into cabinetry and only usually requires approximately 1-2cm gap on the hinge side of the door for the door to swing open.

Temperature Zones Inside a Large Wine Fridge

Wine coolers with 100 bottle capacity and over are available as either single, dual or multi zone coolers with most models available in black or stainless steel to suit any setting. This refers to the number of temperature zones within the cabinet. Whilst single zone units work to keep your wine at a stable, precise temperature, 2 zone wine cooler units work to chill two types of wines at their ideal individual serving temperatures.

When it comes to deciding which extra large wine cooler is best for you, you will need to consider the type of wine you are going to be storing and the dimensions you have available. For example, if your bottle collection solely consists of red wine or white wine, a single zone wine cooler should be able to provide you with everything you need.We offer large wine coolers in widths starting from 600mm wide.

    Large Wine Cooler FAQs

How Much Does a Large Wine Fridge Cost?

    +

    -

Our large wine fridges start from around £1,200 for a cooler which is likely best suited for long term storage rather than being used as a display unit. Equally, if you're looking for a big wine cooler with ample capacity, a stunning aesthetic and all the functionality like different lighting modes and display shelves - these premium units will start from around £2,500 all the way up to £4,000.

How Many Bottles Can I Store In a Big Wine Fridge?

    +

    -

Our range of wine fridges have bottle capacities ranging from 100 to 300 bottles. If you're looking to fit as many bottle as possible in a unit then its advisable to purchase a product with fewer shelves. You will need to take care and stack bottles on top of one another but this will maximise storage space. If you're planning on storing lots of larger bottles like Champagnes or Burgundy bottles this will reduce the stated capacities by around 20-30%.

How Much Space Does a Large Capacity Wine Cooler Need?

    +

    -

We offer both freestanding and built in large wine coolers. For a freestanding model you need at least 5-10cm free space around the backs, sides and rear for ventilation. Its also important to make sure the unit is not covered over the top. When it comes to a built in large wine fridge then they can be enclosed into cabinetry without a problem. Needing just 1-2cm at the rear for the power cable. Just make sure the front vent is free from obstructions as this is how the unit ventilates.
